Caring for your new puppy
Before You Bring Your New Puppy Home
Ask your breeder for a written balanced diet for your puppy – any responsible breeder will have this ready for you before or when you pick the puppy up so you can be prepared. Changing the puppy's diet is not recommended for the first few weeks as this will add to the stress of leaving its mother. If you do change the diet, the change should be gradual.
Make sure your new puppy has its own bed, food and water bowls plus lots of “safe” toys to play with.
Amstaff puppies like to chew to exercise those jaw muscles so rawhide, pigs ears and chew toys are a good idea to save the furniture.
Exercise as a young puppy is not necessary or recommended – but good sufficient play time with toys in the home is the best way to bond with your new puppy.
